At Western, we believe that residence life programming can be defined as any action taken by a residence staff member for the floor or for a resident that promotes a healthy, positive environment.
While you're in class for most of the week, come the evenings and weekend, you're ready to kick back and relax. Our residences are always hubs of activity - there's always something to do! We work closely with the residence staff and Residents' Councils to ensure social programs and activities are organized especially on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights so that there are always plenty of opportunities to meet new people, or social events to attend with your floormates and have fun together!
Residence Life also organizes large-scale campus-wide events from time to time, like bus trips to sporting events, residence intramural leagues at Campus Rec, visits to Canada's Wonderland, and infamous "Street Meat" BBQs.
In addition to this social programming, we also organize several awareness campaigns throughout the year. We aim to increase your levels of awareness around campus and community issues that may impact yourself, your academics, your relationships, and your future. Some awareness campaigns include topics on: alcohol and drugs, healthy relationships and consent, sustainability, LGBTQ issues, and much more.
